Fanø was an important part of the "Atlantic Wall" built by the Germans from northern Norway to southern France during WWII.

This is an area of about 3,250 acres, situated 12 km. north of Esbjerg between Ho Bay and the River Varde.

The 660 meter long beach promenade at Hjerting Strand offers several opportunities to enjoy the good views of Ho Bay, be active, swim and not least use your imagination.

Of course, swimming is of the things that is really attractive at the beach. The best place for swimming is the part from Fanø Bad to Rindby Strand.

Enjoy a few hours with the four-legged friend and bring him to the dog park. Three of the dog parks are fenced, the two dog parks in Ribe are not fenced. Your dog can run free without a leash as long as it is supervised and controlled.

Albue Duck Decoy is located at the tranquil Albue Bay close to the vantage point, Annesdalsbjerg.

Sønderho Old Duck Decoy is located at the coast south of Albue Bay. During the last few years the decoy has been renovated.

The forest playground is located in scenic surroundings in the middle of Fanø Klitplantage between Rindby and Sønderho.

From the peak of the 18 m tall Kikkebjerg, you can enjoy a magnificent view over the northern tip of Fanø, Nordby and Esbjerg.

Pælebjerg is now a nice picnic spot, the view from the peak reveals the ocean, Fanø Dune Plantation, as well as a soft heath landscape.
