City sightseeing tour of Esbjerg including a visit to the Fisheries and Maritime Museum and the modern Hjerting Church or Sædden Church.

The tour goes through Esbjerg city passing such sights as the Performing Arts Centre designed by the famous Danish architect Jørn Utzon (architect of the Sydney Opera House).

Giant art
A short stop at Esbjerg's landmark, the monumental sculpture "Man meets the Sea" by the Danish artist Svend Wiig Hansen. 

The Fisheries and Maritime Museum
Then a visit to the Fisheries and Maritime Museum with large aquaries and seal enclosure. A seal feeding will be attended. The museum also shows exhibitions on fisheries, navigation and offshore activities as well as open air displays with ships, workshops, a bunker from the Second World War, a fully equipped life saving station etc.

Modern church architecture
On to visit Sædden Church or Hjerting Church. Sædden Church is a modern church with links to the old Romanesque tradition and has a very beautiful starry vault of freely hanging lights. In Hjerting Church from 1992 overlooking the Wadden Sea the figures on the altar wall are made by the Danish sculptor Robert Jacobsen.
