There is a special atmosphere when Karina Escherich talks about chocolate. For her, it is not just about sweets - it is about passion, craftsmanship and experiences.

And that is exactly what will now be given a new setting when she opens the doors to a brand new store with an accompanying café at Fanø Bad on 3rd May.

The premises at the end of Strandvejen have been empty for two years, but soon life, scents and flavours will once again flow through the doors. With the opening at the new address, Karina is moving her chocolate production from Lærkevej to new and more suitable premises on Strandvejen, where there will be room for larger chocolate machines and more moulds - and she is also creating a place where residents and visitors can settle down and enjoy the taste of Fanø in a whole new way.

Growing demand gives rise to expansion

Karina has been working from a smaller setting since 2021. At first it was a hobby project, but with a great desire to make chocolate full-time, which she succeeded in doing from July 2022.

But with increasing demand and a growing love for her chocolate, more space has become necessary. Therefore, the time was now to take the next step, and when the opportunity arose, she seized it.

On Strandvejen, there will be production and café together in one place.

With the new season just around the corner, Karina has hired employees who will primarily take care of the café, so that she can focus on what she is most passionate about - chocolate production.

The new place will be a meeting place. A place where you can let your shoulders drop and enjoy the moment.

The plan is that guests will be able to take the taste of the holiday back home - by buying the products they have enjoyed in the café. That way, the experience can continue at home. For Karina, it is important that the products, as far as possible, are from the local area.

In addition to chocolate, the café also offers coffee, tea, cakes, cookies, cream buns - and a glass of white wine or a cold beer for those who want a little extra coziness.

Well-thought-out concept

The concept has been carefully thought out. The café will be a place where coziness and quality go hand in hand.

Although it will not be a formal restaurant, there will be plenty to look forward to. Here it is all about small breaks, great flavors and the special presence that Karina and her chocolate are known for.

In the future, you will also be able to enjoy other delicacies in the café on Strandvejen.

With the location at Fanø Bad, the new place will undoubtedly become a gathering point on Fanø - close to the beach, where many guests will stop by.

It will be busy during summer, but the goal is to stay open all year round. During the quieter periods, the focus will be on producing products with a longer shelf life - for example, nuts and almonds.

Fanø Chokolade will open at Fanø Bad on Saturday, 3rd May 2025 - and will have an opening reception on the same day from 12 noon to 4 pm, where everyone is welcome.
