New collaboration with ambitions
From 1st June 2025, Guldægget will take over the operation of SuperBrugsen's bakery department. The initiative comes as part of SuperBrugsen's desire to raise the quality of bread and cakes to new heights - an ambition that is now becoming a reality in collaboration with the experienced bakers from Esbjerg.
Guldægget has had its eye on Fanø for several years, but it had to be under the right circumstances. When Bent from Brugsen started a major renovation, it all made sense.
From bake-off to genuine artisan bakery
The new setup at SuperBrugsen in Nordby will be much more than a traditional bake-off concept. With professional facilities such as proofing cabinets, ovens and cooling and freezer rooms, baking will be done locally on Fanø using Guldægget's well-known recipes.
The range will range from crispy croissants and classic pastries to a selection of freshly baked cakes - delivered daily from Guldægget's bakery in Esbjerg and baked locally on Fanø.
New jobs on the way on Fanø
Fanø currently has no independent bakery, but that is now being changed. In addition to the existing employees in the bakery department, Guldægget expects to hire 15 new employees, equivalent to 7 full-time positions.
Brugsen has a good name on Fanø and the right products. Guldægget already has experience with similar collaborations with Meny and Løvbjerg, so it could be a really good collaboration between two strong companies.
As part of the new initiative, the entire bakery department is also undergoing extensive modernization in line with the renovation of the store's entrance area.
