Porsborgs in Ribe - a listed building

The visitors centre in Ribe is located in the building Porsborg, built in 1582 - two years after the big town fire.

Peder Baggesen, one of Ribe's wealthy shopkeepers, commissioned the building of Porsborg, but unfortunately, he died before he could move in and the building is therefore named after his son-in-law, Mads Andersen Pors.
